Challenge
This tool shop’s objective was to reduce equipment failure and repairs on a 10-year-old and a 20-year-old chiller.
These chillers cool the oil used in the manufacturing process. If the oil gets too hot, the tooling machines and presses shut down and production stops. The customer was losing money each time production was halted.

Perfection replaced the older chiller with a new, high-efficiency, 125-ton screw machine with larger tonnage, a new capacity tank and a pump skid with controls. The new chiller provided peak operational efficiency. The 10-year-old chiller will be used for backup only. In addition, Perfection provided an agreement to perform preventative maintenance services to keep the chillers running efficiently.
The project reduced the number of service calls and repairs and drastically reduced down time on production. The chiller has been running without issues for the past three years.
