Challenge
This multi-building campus was constructed to produce a high number of military vehicles. The production process included around-the-clock heavy industrial welding. Welding produces heavy fumes, and the facility needed a cost-effective solution to collect and exhaust fumes from the building while drawing in and heating outside air. |
Throughout the production areas, Perfection installed electronic smoke sensors that measure particulates in the air. Using this information, Perfection adjusted the speed of multiple roof-mounted exhaust fans and make-up air units. A control system was installed to monitor these systems for peak efficiency.
The new HVAC system provides energy savings for the facility because the variable-speed system does not run at maximum capacity during the entire production cycle. The system will pay for itself in one to two years.
